Down the Stairs, Up the Stairs

Please email me for information,
The house is actually a very spacious two level house. It is built similar to many houses here in the Missouri Ozarks; it's a walk-out basement house. Of course, the downstairs is completely finished. The family room is actually two living areas, one near the wet bar and the other a roomy space in front of fireplace.
Plenty of room to entertain or for the teenager's video games and/or pizza party. (do kids still play ping-pong or pool? There is room for that.) The house is in Sequiota Elementary School and Glendale High School districts.
There is a full size utility room, complete with large cabinet for storage and counter top for folding clothes. The main downstairs bedroom has a built-in bookcase. There is a cedar lined walk-in closet off the downstairs bathroom.

Let's go back upstairs. Wait, I forgot to tell you about the closets downstairs. Extra closets under the stairs. One of these is a LARGE walk-in complete with shelves. Actually, there are 4 closets with shelves, not counting the bedroom closets.
While the living area downstairs have new carpet, living areas upstairs have hardwood floors, real hardwood, not laminate. Remember this house was built is the '70s when wood was the real stuff. This picture shows the floors and windows in living room, dining area.

This is truly an "explore the possibilities" house. Can't you see your family living here? Need more info? Please email me, LindaCrim@gmail.com

Can you say SPACIOUS?

Living room, built in bookcases

Can you said spacious?
Can you say empty?
Can you say ready for the market?

Well, it is almost ready for it's public unveiling. The inside work is finished. Now thinking about the little bit of outside repair.
Reminder: Mr. Bruce lived in the house for 35 years, he knows every inch of it. Feel free to email questions to lindacrim@gmail.com, I will answer asap.
Bookcases in living room

Mr.Bruce took the picture above to give an idea how large the living area is on the upper floor. He is standing in living room, looking towards the dining room. Here is an earlier pictures of the upstairs bookcases... before the move. I enjoyed reading here curled up in comfortable chair. If you look out the windows you will see the woods back of the house. It's a great place to bird watch; we have spotted dozens of different varieties of birds.

Large laundry room
Stay tuned... more pictures to come over the next few days. Meanwhile, imagine yourself doing laundry here. Full size room, large built-in cabinet for storage and folding clothes.

For Sale Sign

Have you driven by 3919 E. Woodside Way in Springfield, MO the last day or two? Did you see the sign? No, well drive by again.. it is a pretty little sign. Evidently much too small of a sign, Mr. Bruce said people will not be able to read it.
OK, let me explain something. I put the house on Zillow as a way to test the waters and see if people are interested. I love marketing, the internet, and all things social media; this was a natural thing for me to do. I can't hammer nails or paint a wall, but I click and clack online with the best of them.
There have been several people interested in the house. I sent the following email out to anyone who contacted me. See y'all Thursday.

As promised we are giving people who contacted via Zillow first opportunity to look at the house. Bruce will be at the house this coming Thursday afternoon (March 21) between 1 and 3. He has arranged for the appraisal and house inspection, not sure when these will be finished. If you and/or your client would like more information, please stop by for a little tour. Bruce had lived in the house for 35 years and knows every inch of it well.

Thank-you again for your interest.

March 1 Update

Fixing up houses seems to be like aging cheese and/or wine... it takes time. I admit I am the impatient type and want things done yesterday. However, since I can neither hammer a nail or paint a wall, I really have to applaud the people who do those things. Not to bore any readers on the details, I do want to post a little update.

  • Carpet is in!! A light beige color in the large family room on lower level. The walls of the family room are paneled in walnut, the light color carpet compliments the walnut. This carpet is also on the stairs. Note: this house has a walkout basement, I usually refer to it as lower level. In practical terms, think of the house as a two story house.
  • New light fixtures have been ordered for upstairs hall.
  • Most of the walls have been painted.
  • Upstairs bathroom is getting tiled and new toilet installed in coming week.
I truly do appreciate everyone who checks Zillow to see if the house is ready to show. We had a discussion about keeping the house marked "make me move". Right now I am going to leave it as that. (But please, no more real estate people... geez, enough already.)

Signs

While Mr. Bruce and the worker bees are getting the Woodside Way house prettied up, I decided to order a pretty sign. I was hoping Mr. Bruce would go on and put it in the front lawn; my idea was for it to be a pre-sale information campaign. People could find out more about it and I could add to my growing list of people to contact for first showing. (Also, hoping to weed out real estate sales people.)
Mr. Bruce was firm... NO ONE WILL LOOK AT HOUSE UNTIL IT'S READY! He doesn't want people to come knocking on the door and disturb the workers. btw, they are a great, hard working team. They are doing excellent job of the remodeling.
Honestly, it never even entered my mind that people would stop and ring the doorbell. Gee whiz though, isn't that the idea .... BUY THIS HOUSE! Bring your  spouse, you kids, and the in-laws to see this great, roomy family home.
Fill free to email me at the address on the sign, I'm happy to answer questions. Or visit the Zillow.com page for information.

February 1 Update

Things are progressing really well on Woodside Way. Our workers bees are there daily. Here is a brief update:

  • Bedrooms on lower level have been painted. New laminated floor laid is bedroom #4 to match floor in bedroom #3.
  • New tile, vanity, and stools bought for bathrooms. Lower bathroom should be finished this coming week.
  • Carpet for lower living area chosen, men will be there in day or two to lay carpet. It's a light beige color to compliment the rich walnut paneling.
Thank-you to everyone who has made an inquiry about the house via Zillow.  Click here to go to that page. Be assured I will email everyone asap when the house is ready to show. I welcome all questions, probably best to use the official form on Zillow the first time so your email will not end up in the spam file.
